Is being a parent a blessing or a 24/7 duty?

Parenthood journey

Isn’t being a parent a dual experience? It’s a blessing full of happy, learning, and connecting moments. But it’s also a responsibility that requires unwavering perseverance, sacrifice, and fortitude round-the-clock. During this wonderful journey, we face many uncertain challenges of parenting. Sometimes balancing these two situations will make you feel like you are walking a tightrope but the rewards are frequently immeasurable. Every moment of raising a child, from the early morning duty to the late-night lullaby, adds to the wonderful journey.

Being a Parent: A Blessing

Being a parent is an amazing and joyous experience. You share an unconditional bond of love for them which is unbreakable no matter what comes in the way. As time passes your love for your child eventually grows more and more and it becomes stronger.

Being a parent

The moment when you see or touch your child for the first time all you want is to love that child for the rest of your life. The emotional gratification that comes with becoming a parent is a wonderful thing. To see your child growing and learning, to see how the whole house is filled with their giggles and to hear them laughing are the most precious feelings.

Being a parent you also get a chance to see your little ones growing and developing. Their first words and first steps and many things they do for the first time are genuinely enchanting.

When kids are around they give you satisfaction and energy to comfort them in every possible way. Your child is a reflection of yourself. While raising your child you will discover a new type of yourself that never existed until now.

Above all the blessings of parenting are wrapped up in our daily lives. Parenting means sharing happiness, comforting in hard times, and loving them no matter what. But parenting is a sacred journey, a journey full of unconditional love, and hope. Parenting is hard but the rewards are worth it in the end.

Being a Parent: The 24/7 Duty

Although parenting is a blessing, it is also a job of 24/7 with lots of expectations and difficulties. Because your children need you all day every day especially when they are babies. They need 24-hour care like changing diapers or midnight feeding so you have to be available all the time.

Sometimes they just need you to hold them for hours for no reason even if you feel sleepy or tired but you can’t leave them alone when they are sad or crying. So parenting is hard both physically and mentally.

Parenting challenges

Parenting becomes laborious with a teasing job and family commitments. Maintaining balance between the two of them takes lots of planning. To make sure that all of your work is done nicely and at the same time spending quality time with your child is quite stressful.

Parenthood costs you both physically and emotionally. Parents often feel stressed and emotionally drained when their child is ill or having a hard time. Parenthood is exhausting when it comes to keeping up with your child’s never-ending stamina and uneasy nights. Parenting becomes harder if you have a special needs child.

Regardless of these struggles, being a parent is enormously cheerful, comforting and adoring. Seeing your little ones prosper and bloom is very satisfying. There is a bond between a child and their parents, and that is something really special. Despite the constant need for parenthood, in the end, it’s all worth it because of the warmth, pleasure and satisfaction it offers.

Patience  and Flexibility

To handle the ups and downs of parenthood, patience and flexibility are vitally important characteristics. We should keep in mind one thing kids are always growing and learning. As parents, it’s our responsibility to teach them to handle the uncertainties of life with tolerance and tender-heartedness.

According to my own experience, I’ve realized that taking a break and inhaling deeply helped me sustain resilience under pressure. It’s crucial to keep in mind that it’s ok to feel frustrated or furious sometimes, but the way you react to the situation can deeply affect how calm and empathetic you are.

Your child’s point of view is equally important. Always listen to them and try to understand what they want to say then find out the root cause and then react relentlessly. Sometimes they cross limits, so you have to teach them manners by showing them how important it is to behave nicely.

As a parent, I advise you to do yoga and meditation daily. Because you can look after your child only when you are healthy. It will help you get calm and relieve your stress as well and also make your mood happy. So self-care activities are equally important.

All these features will help you sail across the parenting journey.

Sacrifice and Selflessness

Selflessness and sacrifice are the two main demands of parenthood. Parents easily and happily put their desires and necessities aside to provide the best upbringing for their kids’ comfort and welfare.

Sometimes parents have to sacrifice their careers to prioritize their kids. Family stability and welfare become more important than promotions or job moves. Often parents choose flexible jobs, reschedule their working time or even shortly take a break from their career to raise their child in the best possible way.

Parents willingly give up their hobbies and pastimes to spend more time with their children. Their past interests like arts, athletics or traveling become less important for them to fulfill the responsibilities of parenthood.

Once you are a parent the strong sense of selflessness generates automatically. While nurturing kids, parents learn sensibility and compassion and they also learn to put the needs of others before their own. This generous attitude makes people better guardians and also gives strength and boosts connections within the family.

Finding Balance

In closing this conversation, we should recognize and honor parenthood as a unique and beautiful journey. The numerous benefits and joys of parenthood make the struggle worthwhile. We feel immense joy when we see them achieving success, being happy, and smiling. The unconditional love we feel for our kids fills us with unimaginable satisfaction.

Through these difficulties and sacrifices, remember that we are not traveling alone in this parenthood journey. A whole community of parents out there experiencing the same joys and challenges and they can provide advice and guidance along the way.

Thus, even in hard times just stick to the joys and benefits of parenthood, laughter, love and magical moments. Each obstacle we overcome will make us stronger.

Ultimately, parenthood is a pleasant and amusing journey full of deep affection, growth and education for both parents and kids. So enjoy this amazing ride with our priceless children and make the most of every minute we spend with them.
